Alexandria councilwoman to host free women's health forum Sunday on International Women's Day

Councilwoman Jacinta Greene is hosting a free women's health forum this Sunday at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, bringing together health experts, local vendors, and community members to mark International Women's Day.

The EmpowerHER Women's Health Forum runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 8 at 901 Wythe St. Greene is co-hosting the event with Alexandria Celebrates Women and the Ivy Foundation of Northern Virginia.

The forum is designed for women of all ages and generations, with panel discussions focused on intergenerational health, mental wellness, and sexual and reproductive health. Organizers say they hope mothers, daughters, and grandmothers will attend together.

The program also includes interactive wellness activities and a curated selection of health-conscious local vendors and community resources.

"Join us as we empower, celebrate and educate women from all generations on International Women's Day," Greene said.
