ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The joint City Council and School Board committee on school board election reform meets for the last time at 6 p.m. Tuesday with a stack of draft scenarios from School Board member Kelly Carmichael Booz, laying out how a board with four-year terms could be sized and scheduled.
The four-member committee meets in the multipurpose room at Chick Armstrong Recreation Center, 25 W. Reed Ave. The meeting is also streamed on Zoom, according to the agenda posted in BoardDocs.
Its report is due to City Council and the School Board on Nov. 10, when the committee dissolves. Its members are Councilman Canek Aguirre, who chairs it; Councilwoman Sandy Marks; and School Board members Booz and Abdulahi Abdalla.
