ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Gregory "Sugar Bear" Elliott, a founding member of the go-go band Experience Unlimited and an Alexandria City Public Schools employee, is among the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame's 2026 inductees.
The hall announced the class in a June 18 press release and held the induction ceremony Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in Mooresville, N.C.
A video posted on Facebook by an account under the name Tia Evette is captioned as showing Elliott performing at the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame event while fellow 2026 inductee MC Sha-Rock dances with George Clinton. Clinton was scheduled to receive the hall's lifetime achievement award at the ceremony.
