ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Around the World Cultural Food Festival turns 10 on Saturday, running 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Oronoco Bay Park with food vendors from across the globe, two beer gardens, live music and dance, an international craft market and a kids' corner. Admission is free and it's pet friendly. The forecast cooperates: mostly sunny and 88.
Friday brings two very different evenings. The Titans open their football season at 7 p.m. against Lake Braddock at Parker-Gray Memorial Stadium, coming off a six-win playoff year. And at Shiloh Baptist Church, the Alexandria Community Remembrance Project marks the 1899 mass meeting that protested the lynching of 16-year-old Benjamin Thomas, with NAACP Deputy General Counsel Myesha Braden speaking.
A 30% chance of storms Friday afternoon is the only rain in the forecast. Sunday is sunny and 90.
