ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Traffic and Parking Board votes Monday on adding 11 parking spaces and two loading zone spots near Naomi L. Brooks Elementary School, the last piece of a Russell Road safety project the board has been working through since July.
Staff recommends adding five on-street spaces on the 600 block of Russell Road, two loading zone spaces there restricted to 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, and six spaces on the 700 block of Johnston Place.
The additions come from a design the board did not recommend. The parking removals that go with them are not on Monday's agenda: in an Aug. 7 letter, T&ES Director Leah Riley wrote that the board considered removals in July and they "will not be brought forth a second time."
