ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Alexandria kicks off the weekend with a daylong Juneteenth celebration on Friday, as city offices close in observance of the holiday and free events unfold across town — from a Jubilee Voices concert by Washington Revels to a festival featuring food, live music, and exhibitors at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, where the city's policing auditor will also host a community listening session.

Soccer fans can catch World Cup watch parties at restaurants citywide, including a USA vs. Australia family gathering hosted by the Alexandria Soccer Association. Old House Cosmopolitan, Atlas Brew Works, Taqueria Picoso, Union Street Public House, and LaPluma Coffee & Wine Bar are among the local restaurants hosting daily watch parties. Check visitalexandria.com/world-cup for the full list.

Saturday brings the season's usual rhythm of farmers markets in Old Town and Del Ray, the Be the Good 5k & 10k at Ben Brenman Park, living history tours aboard the Tall Ship Providence, and an Old Town North Pride Party at St. Elmo's — plus the Ohio Players at The Birchmere.

The weekend wraps Sunday with a summer solstice yoga session at Lee-Fendall House, a piano concert at The Lyceum, and plenty of Father's Day options, including Dad's Day Off at Good Fortune and an after-dark Poisons tour at the Apothecary Museum.
