ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Domestic Violence Program will hold its annual Silent Witness Candlelight Vigil and Memorial Program on Wednesday at the Alexandria Courthouse, 520 King St., to remember people in the city whose lives were lost to domestic violence.
The free event runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 21. It centers on a display of life-sized silhouettes representing those victims, according to a city news release sent Friday through the Alexandria eNews service.
Alexandria first took part in the vigil in 2003 with 12 statues and now has more than 20 silhouettes, according to the program's page on the city website. The city has not said how many will be displayed Wednesday or whom they represent.
