ALEXANDRIA, Va. — City Council and the board of the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority will meet Thursday for a joint work session covering governance, the search for a permanent chief executive, evictions, property maintenance and the authority's finances — a list that tracks closely with the problems that led Council to force out ARHA's entire board a year ago.
The session runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center, 4850 Mark Center Drive, in the café. It is open to the public and can be joined by Zoom with advance registration.
The two-page agenda lists topics without supporting materials. Under governance, it names a "comprehensive attestation review" and the timeline for ARHA's chief executive search. Under property management, it lists eviction mitigation and tenant stability, property management and maintenance, a Housing Choice Vouchers update and an update on The Alate. The agenda also includes resident engagement and transparency, and a fiscal outlook.
