ALEXANDRIA, Va. —Halloween arrives a week early in Del Ray. The 30th Del Ray Halloween Parade steps off at 2 p.m. Sunday on Mount Vernon Avenue, with kids, pets and decorated strollers marching to the Mount Vernon Recreation Center field for music and awards. New this year: a group and float category, though nothing motorized. If you can’t wait, Saturday has a Monster Fun Run at George Washington Middle School at 10 a.m., trick-or-treating at Pippin Toy Co. at 11, Hank’s Howl-O-Ween Block Party at 1 and a bar crawl from the Bier Garden at 4.

Saturday is packed beyond the costumes. Lost Boy Cider’s Fall Fest fills Hooffs Run Drive from noon to 6 with 20 makers, three bands, whole-hog barbecue and 100 free pumpkins for kids. The Alexandria Choral Society opens its 57th season at 4 p.m. at the Masonic Memorial with a new work by Nebal Maysaud and poetry by city Poet Laureate Cristi Donoso; pay what you can. Drug Take Back Day runs 10 to 2 at four sites, and the Art Safari turns the Torpedo Factory over to kids at 11. Josh Ritter plays the Birchmere Saturday and Sunday, after David Cross on Friday.

Friday is the last day to register to vote or request a mail ballot, and early voting continues all weekend at Beatley Library and the elections office. The 7-0 Titans are at Robinson Friday night. And on Sunday afternoon, the Sister Cities Committee hosts a Swedish fika at Buzz Bakeshop, $10 for coffee and pastries the way Helsingborg does it.
