Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a laundromat in the 3400 block of Commonwealth Avenue early Sunday morning, the city’s firefighters union said.

Engine and Rescue 209 arrived to find fire visible from the laundromat, according to a Facebook post from Alexandria Firefighters Inc., IAFF Local 2141, published at 6:14 a.m.

The fire was quickly put out with limited spread to surrounding areas, the post said.

No information on injuries or a cause was immediately available.

The 3400 block of Commonwealth Avenue is home to Bubble Laundromat, a full-service coin-operated laundromat.

The Alexandria Fire Department could not immediately be reached for comment Sunday morning.
