Several film and TV productions are actively seeking talent in the Alexandria area, according to a casting roundup published this week by Backstage and distributed by Stacker Media.

Two short films list Alexandria specifically among their casting locations. "Sonderous Ones" is seeking three female roles — a lead aged 16–19 and two supporting roles for women in their late 20s to late 30s — with pay of up to $150. "I Don't Care I Like Her" is looking to fill three roles: a male lead (ages 15–25), a female supporting role (35–50), and a male supporting role (19–27). Both productions are also casting in Washington, D.C. and Richmond.

Several nationwide productions are included in the roundup as well, among them a feature film called "Painted with L.O.V.E.," which is offering up to $10,000 for lead roles, and a reality TV project, "Clout Chasers: The Viral House," casting a female host with pay reaching $25,000.

Alexandria has a notable history as a filming location. The George Washington Masonic National Memorial has appeared in J. Edgar (2011), National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007), and Jackie (2016). Landmark Mall served as a shooting location for Wonder Woman 1984 in 2018. Other productions filmed in the city include The West Wing, Random Hearts, Hollow Man, The Pelican Brief, Broadcast News, and No Way Out. Several other well-known projects — including Remember the Titans and The Walking Dead — were inspired by or set in Alexandria without filming here directly.

Submission details for all open casting calls are available through Backstage.
