ALEXANDRIA, Va. — One driver was critically injured and another suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash that closed Richmond Highway at East Reed Avenue on Sunday afternoon, Alexandria police said.
A vehicle rolled over in the crash. Police said the driver of one vehicle was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and the driver of the other was taken with minor injuries. No one else was in either vehicle.
Police first reported the closure at 4:01 p.m. It was still closed as of 6:09 p.m., said Tracy Walker, the department's strategic communications manager. at 9:26 p.m., Alexandria police posted on social media that the road had reopened.
Police have not said what caused the crash. This story will be updated.
