Good morning, Alexandria.

DASH’s board chooses tonight between two packages of service cuts. Both would pull Line 31 out of Old Town and end Line 30 short of the Van Dorn Metro station. The larger one would also eliminate Lines 102, 103 and 104, which together carry about 310,000 riders a year. Whichever package is chosen goes out for public comment and a Nov. 12 hearing, the last chance to stop the cuts before they take effect Jan. 31.

In today’s edition: Dr. David Rose is leaving the Health Department Nov. 9 for a regional state post, and Renee Gordon, who has run the 911 center since 2015, is retiring at the end of the month. And City Council made Osijek, Croatia, a friendship city, six days before a Croatian sports conference comes to the hotel where the national team stayed this summer.

Here’s what you need to know for Wednesday, Oct. 14.
