What's happening in Alexandria this weekend: June 26-28

The 9th Annual Alexandria Pride fills John Carlyle Square on Saturday, Croatia plays Ghana in Philadelphia in a do-or-die World Cup match, the Aces play four games across three days, and three farmers markets and an arts and crafts fair fill out the rest of the weekend

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The 9th Annual Alexandria Pride Fair is the centerpiece of the weekend. The free, all-ages event runs Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at John Carlyle Square Park, hosted by the Alexandria LGBTQIA+ Task Force in partnership with the city and community partners. Expect 100 exhibitors, live music, food trucks, free and confidential health testing and vaccines, LGBTQ+ Family Storytime, art and poetry workshops, the Mobile Art Lab, dancing, and a Drag Story Hour anchored by the Alexandria Library — plus connections to LGBTQ+-inclusive services across the city.

Croatia's World Cup hinges on a 5 p.m. Saturday match against Ghana at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Vatreni — World Cup runners-up in 2018 and third-place finishers in 2022 — spent nearly all of June based in Alexandria. Ghana, too, was based at the Hilton Mark Center earlier in the month.

Here's what's happening this weekend.
