Mayor Alyia Gaskins will host a resident roundtable Saturday at the Charles E. Beatley Jr. Central Library, giving Alexandrians a chance to weigh in directly with the city's top elected official just days after the City Council closes out its budget season.
The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the library, 5005 Duke St.
It comes at the end of a consequential week for City Hall. The council holds its regular legislative meeting on Tuesday and is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. to adopt the fiscal 2027 operating budget and set the calendar year 2026 real estate tax rate at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center, 4850 Mark Center Drive.
Gaskins announced the roundtable Saturday in a Facebook post on her Alyia for Alexandria page, calling it the next installment in her series of community discussions.
"I want to hear your concerns, questions and ideas," she wrote.
Promotional materials for the event carry the tagline "Share your ideas!"
