ALEXANDRIA, Va. - It's a packed first weekend of fall in Alexandria. The Titans kick things off Friday night with homecoming against Woodson at Parker-Gray Memorial Stadium.
On Saturday, Tons of Trucks celebrates its 10th year at Chinquapin Park with a monster truck and a DeLorean, and the event opens with a lower-sensory hour at 10 a.m. That evening, "Silver Linings Playbook" author Matthew Quick discusses his memoir about his father at the Lyceum, and the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra opens with Carmen & The Firebird at the Schlesinger Concert Hall.
The Howard Alan Fall Art Festival runs both days at John Carlyle Square Park, and the Beatley Friends Book Sale wraps up with a half-price day Sunday. Also on Sunday, the Wilderness Kids Alexandria Music Festival returns to Pat Miller Square for its fourth year, and the Alexandria Film Festival presents the Virginia premiere of "Ask E. Jean" at the Lyceum.
