ALEXANDRIA, Va. — When Floriana announced last December that it was coming to Old Town, the Dupont Circle Italian restaurant called it a fourth location. Now the restaurant says it is leaving Washington.
Floriana will close its 17th Street restaurant in Dupont Circle on Dec. 31 after 47 years and open in Old Town Alexandria, the restaurant said Nov. 4 in a post on its Instagram account. The Alexandria restaurant is coming to 277 S. Washington St.
"After nearly five decades in Washington, DC, we're preparing to say goodbye to our longtime home on 17th Street as we look ahead to a new chapter in Old Town Alexandria, VA," the post said.
